Music made with Nama
[Back to Nama home]
This site contains music entirely recorded, processed and mixed with Nama. Only special effects were sometimes realised using other text based applications.
- And it's time for: Bach again! Bach again! :-) this time the 2-part invention in D minor. Played on a Rhodes with LinuxSampler and processed with the jreverb (LADSPA unique ID: 1778).

- Johann Sebastian Bach prelude in Eflat minor from the Well-Tempered Clavier Book I. Yes, yet another one today. :-) This time played on the Yamaha 7CG Jr. from sampletekk, again using jconvolver for reverb and of course my true friend and companion Nama for recordng and mixing.

- Just to be on the complete side of things and as a kind of appology: Here is the G minor prelude from the Well-Tempered Clavier Book I. I used the Old Lady grand piano from PMI and jconvolver for a natural reverb.

- And a new Bach, it has been too long, since I recorded one. I think this one has its flaws, yet Aeolus - the organ - is beautiful! Thanks to the most Utter Kevin I know for the education in registrations! It's the G minor prelude from teh Well-Tempered Clavier Book II.

- The Englishman: A good old funky one. Bass Clavinet Julien, rhythm Clavinet 1 Patrick, rhythm Clavinet 2 Claassen, solo Clavinet the Penguin and drums me. :-) This piece is dedicated to Quirq, who is anyting but! Thanks for the kind help and persistence you put into that instrument!

- Enemy April fool: A poppy rogue amongst the rest. Very 80s and very straight forward. There's a lot of instruments in that. The first time Bristol appears, only as a synth bass, but it's a start. Enjoy!

- Fazit! The idea started as a small part of a latino-sounding theme. It developed into a bit of prog with some nasty grooves. the drums were immense fun. It's the Studio drumkit from NI imported into hydrogen.

- A Gospel for the old world is a mixture of gospel influences and easy listening and 70s music. It was done merely as a test for Nama's newest version.

- Carlos' Night is a christmas song, but an unconventional one. Between progressive rock and easy jazz. Instruments used were hydrogen with the Studio Drumkit from NI, LinuxSampler with the PMI Old Lady grand piano, Beatrix and external mellotron patches from a hardware synth. I hope you enjoy it. Merry, beltaed Christmas!

- Johann Sebastian Bach's B minor prelude from the Well-Tempered Clavier Book I, recorded using LinuxSampler and commercial brass samples. Done in three tracks. This time the natural IR reverb from jconv was recorded not using Nama. This piece was before its insert capabilities.

- Johann Sebastian Bach's C Major invention, played using a commercial sample of an old Hammerklavier (forte piano). Again the natural reverb was recorded in Ecasound without the use of Nama, because the insert feature wasn't there, yet. It's a one track recording.

- Johann Sebastian Bach's E Major prelude from the Well-Tempered Clavier Book I. Instruments used, were the Aeolus organ simulation, a commercial sample of a harpsichord and strings and oboe from a hardware synth. Except the organ, all instruments were processed by jconv using a natural sounding IR reverb again. Again it was before Nama's insert feature.

- Mr. Marple, an origianl composition. A very 60s sounding tune, cmpletely recorded, processed and mixed in Nama. Instruments used were commercial samples of drums, harpsichord and brass, a free bass soundfont using Fluidsynth and a hammond sound from a hardware synth.

- Bar Pathetique, another original composition. This time a mixture of 70s jazz/funk rock and a bit of Bethoven's Pathetique 3 movement. Instruments used, were commercial Gigasamples of drums and brass, the free bass soundfont and a hammond sound from a hardware synth. Again all work was done in Nama alone.

- Feisty Dinner, composed by me(TM). :-) Again completely done in Nama using the typical mix of commercial and free samples, as well as the hardware synth for organ and Rhodes e-piano this time. An 80s jazzrocky tune.

- The Vision of Love, by me again. I called it raggae, others called it a mix of Raggae and Humpa or something new entirely. I don't go with that though. :-) The typical assortment of sounds was used. the voice was partly edited with praat to achieve the higher vocals, but all other effects and processing was done in Nama exclussively.

- We Failed, on of the first bigger compositions I did in Nama. No variation in the instruments, I'm afraid. It was all done in one night, that might account for the sometimes off tune vocals. Still I believe, all in all, it sounds quite acceptable. It's a darker sounding ballad, somewhere in between 70s and 80s. Rather aiming towards a bigger sound with simple arrangments.

- Moonlight Cinema, again an original tune. At this point 25th of November 2009, the last one I've done. It makes use of the insert feature using a natural IR reverb via jconv. This piece has two parts to its name. A piano only part at the beginning, where you can hear the natural reverb nicely. The second part is an ensemble, with the piano still very present and always leading. It's a ballad with notions of film or theatre music, hence the name. :-)

- Dreams of Music (for a New World). I'm still not decided where to put it, in terms of genres. Starting with an orchestral, movie-like intro and then progressing to big pop, probably electro? Again the voice is a bit off, but I was told it's durable, if I promise to do it again. :-)
