"A bite of fun(k)" OGG (3.06MB)
"A bite of fun(k)" MP3 (3.18MB)
This funny, childish morsel should get you a nice, quick sugar rush on a cloudy day. Unfortunately, it reminds me a little of Tom and Jerry, which I rather detest. Maybe you don't. :)
"Passing cars" OGG (4.34MB)
"Passing cars" MP3 (4.24MB)
A sweet, soothing song that couldn't decide whether to be trance, EDM or 70s synth music. It's definitely danceable - or swayable. :) Steeped in lovely synth tones from all quarters: Prophet 12, RD-8, Yoshimi, Microwave XT and LinuxSampler.
"Just missed 7th heaven" OGG (7.51MB)
"Just missed 7th heaven" MP3 (8.26MB)
is - in a very British way - melancholic. It might come under the heaqding of post rock, progressive rock or psychedelic miscellania. The relaxing meditative feel is perhaps slight out of kilter because of the 7/8 rhythm. Still enjoyable and somewhat timeless.
"The ancient hall" OGG (2.60MB)
"The ancient hall" MP3 (2.75MB)
This is a piece scored for a brass trio, realised recording a synth ensemble, only using the "Jeanny's Genius" soundset for the Prophet 12. The title is an atp description for a composition mixing gregorian, romantic and baroque elements.
"Dream of Isabelle" OGG (1.55MB)
"Dream of Isabelle" MP3 (2.60MB)
This wistful, gentle instrumental is a lament. Isabelle is a ficticious or dream character. Technically it is just one Prophet 12 sound from the Jeanny's Genius soundset (part 4, patch 13), recorded straight to disk without any external processing.
"Cerebral party" OGG (3.49MB)
"Cerebral party" MP3 (3.55MB)
As much poking fun as it is an exploration. This track marks the beginning of a new genre: Medstep. Aside from the drums, piano and the vocals (obviously) this is all based on recordings of an MRI. Cerebral party is dedicated to a very good friend of mine, who had to go through the experience, afterwards commenting her afternoon with the words: "I've had my private techno party today". In technical terms this is an exploration of LinuxSampler and the SFZ format and the supported features in LinuxSampler. I was very much impressed and surprised!
"Regal dance 8" OGG (3.21MB)
"Regal dance 8" MP3 (3.00MB)
This is a very minimal, hard-boiled electro track, which began life as a demo for my new Behringer RD-8 drum machine. Influences include Members of Mayday, U-96 and ProAudioStar's youtube demo of the Moog Sub Phatty. Other instruments include the Arturia MiniBrute for one bass, strings and lead, the MakeNoise 0-coast for arpeggio and the DSI/Sequential Prophet 12 for the other bass.
"G&E's night out" OGG (1.72MB)
"G&E's night out" MP3 (1.80MB)
This is a very short and to the point funky disco interpretation of G. Rossini's "Petite messe solenelle" and E. Grieg's "Piano concerto in A minor".
"Beautiful, excellent birthday Yoshimi" OGG (5.37MB)
"Beautiful, excellent birthday Yoshimi" MP3 (4.93MB)
Happy tenth birthday to the amazing soft synth Yoshimi! This little synth is very well developed for its age. :) This song is a single-synth challenge: all sounds were made in Yoshimi, mostly with the "Jeanny's Genius for Yoshimi" sound bank. This song also includes the officially approved "Will Godfrey's favourite lead sound". :) This birthday greeting is delivered in EDM/RNB, quite a new sound for Jeanette.
"Prophetess on holiday" OGG (4.11MB)
"Prophetess on holiday" MP3 (4.17MB)
This straight forward, groovy pop song is a good showcase for the "Jeanny Genius" soundset for the Prophet 12. It is recorded only using the fifth bank. The Prophetess is really early naughties inspired, but because there are no samples and no other particularly hyper modern patches in it, it sounds more 80. :)
"The lonely wanderer" OGG (3.80MB)
"The lonely wanderer" MP3 (4.58MB)
This is a piece for synth guitar, showcasing a Prophet 12 patch, which will be part of the "Jeanny's Genius" soundset bank 5. The acoustic guitar is played in a style to match the instrument.
"Chroming the dice" OGG (3.77MB)
"Chroming the dice" MP3 (4.08MB) "Chroming the dice" FLAC (18.51MB)
This is another 3D binaural piece, so get your headphones on. Chroming the dice began life as a demonstration for the Cubicon 3D wavetable oscillator, a Csound UDO and grew into its own little world. It is not much in terms of melody or development, but captures part of the inspiration of the Cubicon oscillator. Csound sources are also available on

"Hatched from an empty shell" OGG (4.35MB)
"Hatched from an empty shell" MP3 (4.69MB) "Hatched from an empty shell" FLAC (49.90MB)
This is a scene partly based on field recordings, partly on physically modelled sounds and partly on purely synthesized textures. Take the walk down the empty shell of a surreal tower block, after everyone has left. This is a binaural composition, so you best listen to it with headphones. It was composed and rendered in Csound.
"The attic / Hlong" OGG (2.87MB)
"The attic / Hlong" MP3 (2.99MB)
A funky quicky, simply recorded to get rid of the chord progression and try a few minor technical things.
"Edgar and the fog / Weroosh" OGG (3.77MB)
"Edgar and the fog / Weroosh" MP3 (3.85MB)
This is an experiment. A gloomy bigband arrangement to accompany an imaginary film. Think of a foggy London around dusk, a mysterious crime yet to solve. Alas, the samples for the woodwind section are of minor quality, I only hope that you can enjoy the song all the same.
"In a room / Dumm di dumm" OGG (2.64MB)
"In a room / Dumm di dumm" MP3 (2.96MB) "In a room / Dumm di dumm" FLAC (27.86MB)
This is a sound collage or virtual room installation. It is binaural, so headphones are required for ideal listening. Binaural means that this piece can sound like three dimensional sound on your headphones. The sounds are partly physically modelled and partly based on field recordings. The acoustic space - the room - is completely modelled using Brian Carty's hrtfearly and hrtfreverb opcodes in Csound. Many thanks to him for spelndid code and very nice support. Csound sources are also available on
the Csound page .
"Kisses don't lie (instrumental)" OGG (5.65MB)
"Kisses don't lie (instrumental)" MP3 (5.46MB)
"Kisses don't lie" actually came to me in a dream, at least its chorus did. I woke up, the melody still so strong in my mind, that I wanted to make it the perfect powerful love ballad. This is an instrumental only, if you are willing to try the vocals, please get in touch. Stylistically, it lives from late 80s to mid 90s charm, slow, grand and intense. Judge for yourself and let me know what you think.
"O Tannenbaum (FA Remix)" OGG (4.43MB)
"O Tannenbaum (FA Remix)" MP3 (4.45MB)
Fons Adriaensen has made a remix of "O tannenbaum" and kindly allowed for it to be distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons CC-BY 4.0. Beyond remixing the original tracks, he has also ironed out a few glitches and removed a couple of playing mistakes. Thanks Fons, it's a pleasure to listen to it.
"Not That Innocent (instrumental)" OGG (3.19MB)
"Not That Innocent (instrumental)" MP3 (3.13MB)
"Not That Innocent" is a reverent curtsey to Britney Spears (and Max Martin), trying to condense and extract the essence of songs like "Oops,... I Did It Again", "...Baby One More Time" or "Stronger". It remains a work in progress - and thus only the instrumental without its provocative and raunchy lyrics -, because it's slightly out of my vocal range and daringly out of my league. Any takers? :)
"Z Podziekowaniem Za Magda" OGG (4.97MB)
"Z Podziekowaniem Za Magda" MP3 (5.90MB) "Z Podziekowaniem Za Magda" FLAC (17.17MB)
This little piano piece was actually born on a party, where I met Magda. WE didn't even chat five minutes, and we never met again, but the encounter left a deep impression. And eventhough the translation of "Thanks to Magda" I was given - by a native speaker - isn't quite correct, it's beautiful and it shall be the songs title. <3
